Modest in its number of tracks, this production is nonetheless solid and efficient. Once again thrown through Julien Fehlmann’s mixer, The Best We can, takes us on a shoegaze (Care, The Best We Can) and slightly mathrock (This smile) path, without forgetting to remind us with a quick and simple slap (Welcome In My Place), that this EP knows how to stay casual without being too light. The guitars manage to find themselves in their discord, supported by an intimidating bass and minimalistic drums that wrap it all up in a hypnotic harmony. The vocals come to sublime, captivate and give meaning to this ruthless buzz.

Modeste par son nombre de titres, cette production n’en demeure pas moins solide et efficace. A nouveau passée au mixeur par Julien Fehlmann, The Best We Can nous emmène sur un chemin parsemé d’influences shoegaze (Care, The Best We Can) et légèrement mathrock (This Smile) sans oublier de nous rappeler par une simple claque rapide (Welcome In My Place) que cet EP sait se montrer désinvolte sans être trop léger. Les guitares savent se retrouver dans leur désaccord, portée par une basse intimidante et une batterie minimaliste et percutante qui enveloppent l’ensemble dans une harmonie hypnotique. La voix sublime l’ensemble, envoute et donne tout son sens à ce méchant bourdonnement.
